Bellevue School
Middle School Team Newsletter
Greetings from Rooms 4, 6 and 7 ( the Middle School Team ) and a warm
welcome back to school for the 2009 school year.
The teachers in the team are :
Mrs St George (Miss Jull became Mrs St George in the holidays) in Room 4
Mrs St Clair in Room 6
Mrs Barker in Room 7 ( Mrs Barker will be the Team Leader )
Together, we will be teaching all the Year 3 and 4 children at Bellevue School.
We will be adopting a team approach this year, and although the children have been
assigned to a particular class and teacher, we will, at times be grouping for the needs,
abilities and interests of the children, and to use teacher strengths and interests.
So………….this means that the children may work with any of the teachers in the team.
If you require any further explanation about our proposed organisation we are very happy for you to contact us.
NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION:
SWIMMING
Our swimming days are TUESDAY,WEDNESDAY,THURSDAY between 11 and 12.30am
The children are expected to have their swimming gear ( togs, towel and plastic bag ) on these days, unless there is a medical reason for them not to swim— in that case we would appreciate a note from you.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SWIMMING SPORTS - Week 6
ABSENCES
Please telephone the school ( PHONE 576 5916 ) before 8.45 if your child is not attending school. A brief note explaining the absence should be brought to school the day your child returns.
STATIONERY
The stationery packs were issued yesterday. If you are not purchasing a new home pack or clearfile ,please send last years back to school promptly. We do not require books to be covered.
HOMEWORK
The children will be expected to undertake 20 –30 minutes homework on Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Homework books will be expected back at school on Friday. Homework will begin in Week 3. Further information will be sent at that time.
HATS
During Term 1 all children need to have a wide brimmed sunhat to wear when they are outdoors. The hats must have a brim and be named. Children without hats are unable to play outside.
LUNCHES
We would be pleased if you could organise a bottle of water for your child to bring to school each day, for drinking throughout the day. Juice is not permitted in the classroom.
We would also ask that if the children bring yoghurt, they also bring a spoon. Plastic spoons are ideal.
LIBRARY
The classes visit the library on the following days:
Room 4 Monday
Room 6 Tuesday
Room 7 Friday
TOPICS FOR THE TERM
Our theme for Term 1 is ‘We All Have A Story To Tell’
Our specific units are - Finding Out About Ourselves
- Space Invaders ( Food and Nutrition)
- Legends From New Zealand and Other Cultures
CLASS BLOGS
Our class blogs will be up and running very soon. Please check these out regularly.

A Message from Mrs St George
Welcome to Room 4. We have started the year off well. The children have already displayed great enthusiasm. And we are set for a fantastic year. This is my second year of teaching at Bellevue School. Prior to this, I have worked in the Waikato and England over the past 10 years.
Kind Regards
Charlotte St George
